A kind Aldi shopper allowed a fellow customer to go ahead of her at the till and her kind gesture was quickly repaid with another when she went to pay for her food.
There are small things we can each do in our everyday lives that are of little consequence to us but could make a massive difference to someone else.
For instance, we might return an item someone dropped in the street, or open a door for someone.
One woman recently explained how her random act of kindness of the day was to let a man with only two items in his basket go ahead of her at the till in her local Aldi supermarket.
She didn't think much of the queue jumping, but clearly the other customer did, as when she reached the cashier to pay for her shopping, the woman discovered her act of kindness had been repaid.
They report that the generous act occurred on Monday, June 21 at around 1pm at Aldi Clockface in St Helens.
A local resident allowed a young man to go in front of her whilst queuing for the till, as he had less to purchase than she did.
As a thank you, the unknown man decided to pay forward the kindness and gave the cashier £5 to put towards the cost of the woman's shop.
The man is said to have "refused" to take the money back when offered.
The woman's Facebook post read:
"I would like to say a big thankyou to a lovely young man who was behind me at the till in Aldi Clockface at around 1pm.
"He only had two items so I said to go in front of me. He gave the cashier £5 and said to put it towards my shopping, he refused to take it back.
"What a kind and very generous act to do. There are beautiful people out there.
"I have kept the kindness going and put it in the charity box at the till. Thankyou again."
One person replied:
"Just shows you that there are some lovely kids/teenagers out there. We get so used to hearing about the bad ones. Well done young man."
"What a lovely thing to do, so thoughtful."
A third commented:
"Wonderful young man."
While someone else added:
"So sweet! Lovely."
